During our recent stay at the Avenue, my family found it to be a lovely retreat in a quiet area of Newcastle. Steve, the host, quickly made us feel at home with his warm welcome and helpful guidance. The breakfast each morning set us up nicely for our day of exploration. With kids ranging from 4 to 15, the hotel proved to be family-friendly. The availability of cable programming kept the children entertained during downtime, giving us some much-appreciated moments of relaxation. We appreciated the nearby restaurants, especially Mascalzone, where we enjoyed a delicious Italian meal one evening. While the Avenue isn't in the city center, we enjoyed the scenic walks around the neighborhood and found the Jesmond Metro station just a few minutes away-a convenient way to explore Newcastle. The Avenue offered a comfortable base for our family vacation, and we looked forward to returning someday.
